Italy, a Eurovision mainstay since 1956, withdrew at times but returned in 2011 as a "Big Five" member. With three wins, including Måneskin in 2021, and numerous top-ten finishes, Italy excels in the contest. The Sanremo Music Festival often determines its Eurovision entry.
