Monaco

Monaco, with 24 Eurovision participations since 1959, secured its sole victory in 1971. Despite expectations to host in 1972, Monaco declined. François Deguelt achieved top three results in the 1960s, while Romuald and Mary Christy continued the success in the '70s. Following a 25-year absence after 1979, Monaco returned from 2004 to 2006 but faced non-qualification. Monaco is unique as the only microstate to have won the contest and has exclusively internally selected participants.
